Teamson Design Corporation
Tuesday, August 29th, 2006Teamson Design Corporation is a manufacturer of “fine hand-painted furniture”, and while their site doesn’t show you a whole lot without a login, they make it very easy to apply for vendor access online.
It looks like their store would have the most appeal to a smaller business, since their products are hand-painted. With things of that nature, you always have to consider whether or not a company would be able to meet your demands if the product line was successful for you. If you do huge volume, make sure that they can give you reasonable assurance of product availability.
Where Can I Get That?
Monday, August 21st, 2006Ok, so distributors are great and all, but what if you see a product you just have to sell. How do you figure out where to buy it? There are a couple of great methods you can try, but sadly, they’re not 100% guaranteed. Sometimes you may have to admit that something is not available to you.
Scenario One: You see a hot item in a catalog or website and you want to resell it. What do you do?
You COULD buy a sample to see if you can find a label or plant name. I wouldn’t recommend it, though. A good detective can figure out most anything in this day and age.
Tipton Charles Apothecary - New York Soap
Saturday, August 19th, 2006If you enjoy selling unique and fun bath and body products, check out New York Soap & Tipton Charles Apothecary. They have a great (albeit a little tough to find) retailer resource page, not to mention a super-hip product line. To find their wholesale information, click on “Contact Us” and then “Retailer Resources”.
Their corporate offices are located at:
Michael Xavier, Ltd.
P.O. Box 1230
Latham, NY 12110
Tel (800) 340-1075
As with most legit wholesalers, expect to be asked for your Tax ID when you call in.
Vance Kitira
Sunday, August 6th, 2006Vance Kitira is a distributor of hand made and exotic home goods, particularly candles. They offer wholesale terms with a reasonable minimum purchase, so long as you can provide the necessary tax id and retail forms to prove that you are a legit business. Unlike some companies, they don’t allow use of their images for resale purposes, so count on doing a bit of photography if you decide to purchase their products for online sales.
Lava Enterprises Decor
Thursday, August 3rd, 2006Lava Enterprises Decor is a candle wholesaler with showrooms in 8 different cities with product lines for all occasions. In addition to the usual candles for the seasons, they have holiday specific pieces (Halloween, Christmas, etc.) and a variety of accessories like candle plates and holders. My personal favorites are the Halloween candles and the Romance candles - they’re much more unique than the standard jar candle you’d find anywhere.
Lava has done a lot of private label work in its almost 20 years in business, including deals with companies like Martha Stewart and Pillsbury. Be sure to have your state resale number ready when you contact them:
