Wholesale Digital Cameras

Friday, February 19th, 2010

For a small business, it can be difficult to find good sources for things like wholesale digital cameras. Luckily, Chinavasion has provided a solution to that problem. Chinavasion is a company based in Hong Kong and the UK designed as a wholesaler for small to mid-sized businesses that aren’t yet ready to commit to $100,000+ container loads of products.

I’ve included a picture of one of their available digital cameras (as of 2/19), but they have quite a selection. View more wholesale digital cameras here.

Artsy Shower Curtains for Bathroom Daredevils

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

If you’ve ever thought about adding shower curtains to the product lineup in your store, definitely check out Izola. Their products are eco-friendly, they donate to a great charity (St. Jude’s), and they’re pretty darn cool besides. They probably won’t be right for you if you have more of a country store, but if your shoppers are more hip and trendy, these shower curtains should go over very well.

The Man Can

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

It’s tough to market healthy and beauty products to men. Still, some brave companies try - and a few actually succeed. I would be proud to sell The Man Can in any of my stores.

As you can see below, the packaging is in keeping with what you’d expect for manly health and beauty items. Although you may not see too many men venturing into gift shops to buy them, I’m sure plenty of men will be happy to receive their Man Cans.

Warm Weather and Getting Fit

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Even if you don’t have plans to offer a full selection of exercise equipment in your store, you can take advantage of the common desire to get fit. Think about what may fit in your store: workout attire, small weights, exercise balls, jump ropes? Chances are good that there’s something you can tempt your out of shape customers with.

If you’re looking for distributors of those exercise accessories, check out Everlast. They offer a variety of products, many of which are available in girly spring colors like pink.

Wine Accessories Wholesale

Monday, March 17th, 2008

If your customers are Resveratrol fanatics, you might want to look at some wine related products (because red wine is a notable source of resveratrol, of course). Luckily, there are about a million different companies that will be happy to sell you wine accessories.

Oenophilia is just one of those companies. They sell wine racks, books, corkscrews, and almost anything else you can think of. If you’d like to get in touch with Oenophilia, contact them with the details below.

Should You Purchase a List of Wholesale eBay Suppliers?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

As a professional buyer for several years now, my answer - It depends. Yes, you’re spending money, and yes, there’s always a chance that you won’t get what you thought you were getting. It happens to the best of us. Even still, it may be worth buying a wholesale supplier list in a couple of situations:

-Your time is worth something. Trust me when I say that it takes many hours of searching to get a comprehensive list of good suppliers. If you’d rather spend the time narrowing down a list rather than creating one from scratch, then by all means, buy a list of potential wholesale or drop ship suppliers.

-You don’t know what you want to sell. If you’re not sure what you want to sell, having a list of wholesalers will definitely make it easier to browse and narrow things down. You may find that being able to speak to the suppliers first helps you to locate an industry that’s easiest for you to navigate. It may also help you locate a niche you never thought of like light fixtures or Japanese lunchboxes.

-You’re lazy. There’s nothing wrong with that, either. Maybe you’d rather spend the time doing something else for your business (or just enjoying life). Who cares? If you have the extra cash to buy your list and save time, good for you.

Now, it’s true that I’ve talked about a ton of wholesale suppliers here on the blog. That may be enough to get you started, especially if you’re interested in giftware products. If not, give this wholesale list a try. SaleHoo has been around for a while now and they’re one of the few companies that actually lists full names of people who have been happy with their memberships.

Sea Glass Jewelry Wholesale

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

While the more jaded among us may scoff at sea glass, I think it’s beautiful. I’m sure I can’t be the only one, especially since Austin Design has been making and selling jewelry made of the glass since 1987. Their items would be great for a seaside gift shop, but I suspect they’d also do very well in boutiques and tourist shops in any part of the country.

Even better, your purchases support independent artisans in the Outer Banks area. These are not cheap pieces that are made in China for a penny each. If you’re interested in contacting Austin Design, the contact information is below:

Upper Canada Soap Company - Wholesale Body Products

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

I’m a huge fan of soaps and gels and body washes and other deliciously scented personal items. I can never get out of a Bath & Body Works for less than $50, and every time I go to hotels or on cruises, the shampoos and lotions are the first things I check out.

That’s why this Lemongrass Saffron line from Upper Canada Soap seemed so great. They offer that scent for everything from a reed diffuser to a hand lotion to a counter spray. It’s not every day that you see a company making its scents available in counter spray.

Anyway, they do offer wholesale pricers for interested resellers. If you’re interested, contact them at this page.

Big Paw Pet-Related Jewelry

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

Big Paw Designs carries some great pieces for pets. If you run a gift store or e-commerce site, you should definitely check out what they have to offer. I looked to see if they had anything like a gold anklet for my cat, and it seemed like they had everything BUT that. I guess anklets for pets would be tough.

I was particularly fond of this cat collar charm.

Emily’s Chocolates - Wholesale Holiday Treats

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Despite the fact that it’s now December, there’s still time to get in on the holiday action. The delicious treats from Emily’s Chocolates are one great way to do that. Take a look at the incredible snowman set below.

Snowman Chocolates

They also have year-round products, too, so if you’re hesitant to bring in seasonal items this late in the year, you can always try out something else in their line. You’ll find their products in small independent retailers and even big chains like Target, but they definitely have a personal feel.

To get in touch, fill out their wholesale contact form.

Dirty Cards to Titillate…

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

If you own a gift store, it’s almost impossible for you NOT to sell some kind of greeting cards. I’m pretty sure it’s a rule or something. That said, you don’t have to carry boring cards. Vash Designs definitely delivers in that department. On the first page of their site, you see a card that features a “fornicating” egg and chicken with the line “Who Came First?” Really. While not all the cards seem quite that edgy, they’re definitely not the usual.

Don’t miss the Bad Taste Bears. I would elaborate, but I think it’s better to let you discover that one for yourself.

Aroma Diffusers Wholesale with Geodesis

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Aroma diffusers are hugely popular these days, and the ones at Geodesis are terribly elegant. They have a wide variety of fragrances and perfume oil products, so you can actually create an entire aroma section in your store. Take a look at their fragrance list to see what I’m talking about. The Polynesia with Tiare Flowers scents sounds absolutely heavenly.

If you’d like to find out more about reselling Geodesis products, give them a call.

Wholesale Jewelry

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

If you’re looking to sell jewelry but you don’t want to sell the kind of stuff that appeals to the pearl necklace types, you should definitely check out Wicked Sista.

The designs are definitely best for a tween/teen crowd, though anyone looking for a youthful look could get a kick out of their pieces. While they don’t have the simple elegance that more classic pieces have, they’re also more impulsive buys that people don’t need to buy as frequently.

Music Design Audio & Video Wholesaler

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

The simple website over at Music Designs would turn a lot of people off, but not me. I like simplicity. There’s a lot to be said for something that does what it needs to do and nothing more.

Anyway, Music Design is a distributor and wholesale of music and self-help products. They don’t appear to do books, though, just audio and video products.

If you’re interested in getting into that particular market, definitely give them a call at the number below.

Holiday Gift Packaging

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

Depending on your customers, you may find that it’s important to offer some kind of gift packaging for holiday sales. If you plan on doing it, it’s best to look into it right away, since the beginning of the big holiday sales is less than a week away. Box & Wrap is one company that offers a variety of gift packaging products. They even have food packaging products and holiday box towers.

You can get in touch with Box & Wrap below.

Moosepablos - Wholesale Jewelry

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

If you’re interested in selling jewelry in your store or on your website, it’s not hard to find wholesalers to help you out. Moosepablos is one great, southwest-inspired site that offers original jewelry designs. The site itself is pretty cool, too, as they’ve compiled a fun, interactive experience to help you learn about their products.

If you want to get in touch with Moosepablos, you can do so below.

Fair Trade Products at Rupalee

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

I’m a big fan of Fair Trade products. They offer the guarantee that somewhere in the world, someone’s life was improved by having the opportunity to participate in the production of your product. I’ve posted some resources before, but Rupalee is another company that sells these Fair Trade products in wholesale quantities and prices. I like this adorable bird jewelry box:

3 More Distributors You Should Check Out

Friday, November 16th, 2007

If you’re looking for last minut gift items, you should check out the companies below. They’re all especially great for gift stores, but it’s not like their stuff wouldn’t do well in general merchandise or other more specialized areas.

Knock Knock - They sell cool paper producs.

Fred - I promise you: If you know anything about gifts, you will recognize their products.

Kikkerland - I’ve never been crazy about their customer service (it took 4 weeks and 4-5 calls to get a paper catalog, and their website doesn’t have everything), but they do have some cool products.

If you check them out, let me know how it goes!
